Skill (JASKILL Batik Studio Cafe) is a Mozambican artist working between batik, music, and cultural memory—one language expressed through cloth and sound.
Raised in Maputo in a family of batik artists, he learned early that creativity is not decoration; it is survival, identity, and a way to carry stories forward.
Based in Matola, his practice has grown into Green Medicine: a creative healing philosophy built on pallet, rhythm, symbol, and community lift. Through studio-archive batik releases and an independent live circuit across Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, Skill is building more than a body of work—he’s building a youth-facing creative ecosystem rooted in respect and belief: sovereignty, legacy, and possibility.
Skill cofounded the Ponta d’Ouro Studio Ecosystem in 2024.
